Imagine yourself lounging by the sparkling waters of one of Austin’s finest luxury hotels, surrounded by vibrant music and warm sunshine. The Fairmont Hotel in particular takes the pool party to new heights, offering an unparalleled experience for both guests and non-guests alike. For a mere $40 pass, you can join the fun, even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

During a recent girls’ getaway to Austin, I discovered that the city’s vibrant nightlife scene is centered around three main hubs: Rainey Street, the West Sixth district, and the East Sixth neighborhood.

While Rainey Street holds a special place in my heart, I must confess that our time spent there was absolutely phenomenal! The infectious energy of the area, coupled with the lively atmosphere at Cantina 512 and the surrounding bars, made for an unforgettable night. From the pulsating rhythms to the carefree revelry, every moment felt like a celebration. And, let’s not forget the unexpected delight – a bar featuring a slide!
As we explored the various establishments, it was clear that Cantina 512 was our top pick. Not only did we have a blast dancing there, but its proximity to our hotel made it the perfect starting point and ending point for an evening of merriment.
6th Street East
While 6th Street East has its own unique energy, it’s not necessarily the most welcoming spot for those seeking a pleasant experience. The area tends to attract a younger crowd, often characterized as ‘college kids,’ which can result in an atmosphere that’s more party-oriented than peaceful. If you’re looking for a low-key vibe, you might want to consider exploring other options.
6th Street West
While 6th Street West may be considered nicer than its counterpart, it still maintains a bustling atmosphere. On the other hand, we had a blast listening to live music at Rustic Tap, which also offers unique backdrops ideal for snapping memorable photos.

While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, it’s undoubtedly a top choice for travelers seeking luxury and convenience. In fact, we found that many locals and visitors alike were opting to stay at the Fairmont due to its prime location on Rainey Street.
If you’re looking for alternative options that offer similar high-end amenities, consider the JW Marriott Austin, Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt, or the Hilton Austin – each of these hotels provides a unique experience that’s sure to meet your needs.
